Knit Kit: How to Cast Off

Casting off is how we get our knitting creations off our needles so we can wear it.

In this video you'll see that we are using a knit stitch, that's just because it is the stitch we had on our needles. If you have purls on your needle, you can cast off with purls. If you can't remember how to purl, check out our How To Purl video for a little refresher.

To start, you need to make two stitches as if you were going to make another row. Then you start casting them off. Here's a simple video showing how.
